Maruti Suzuki's popular hatchback car Wagon R has crossed the sales figure of 2 million units by September 2017. Maruti Suzuki is the third model of Maruti 800 and Alto after the Wagon R company. In 2004, Wagon R crossed the sales figure of 1 million units. After that, in the year 2008, 5 lakh units, then 15 lakh units and now in 2017 20 lakh units have crossed the figure.
Alto is the second best-selling model of the carmaker. After launching the Alto in 2012, it had crossed the figure of 2 million sales and 3 million sales in 2016. The price of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is between Rs 4.14 lakh and Rs 5.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). At the same time, the price of Maruti Alto ranges from 3.46 lakh to 3.72 lakh rupees (ex-showroom Delhi).
After the first launch in 1999, WagonR has always been updated on the demand of the customers in the Indian market. Now this hatchback is available with many new features in exteriors and interior. Maruti Suzuki WagonR is now available in both petrol and CNG variants. This car has an auto gear shift with a 5-speed manual and automatic, mode gearbox.
With auto gear shift transmission in total sales, 16 per cent of Wagon R and 20 per cent stake in CNG option. In the company's portfolio, Maruti Wagon R is the first model to have Tall Boy Design and Dual Fuel Options Petrol and LPG. After this, the company also launched its CNG variants and closed the LPG variant.
